Re: The Reality of Hell
I understand what you mean now! I have noticed that since my middle school years. I can open the bible and read a passage, and it strikes me one way. The next time I read the exact same passage I it strikes me another way entirely. Anf that before you put in the knowledge that the definition of the word changes based on context! (not so very far off from our own english actually)
I know that the Word is a living thing. I open the bible and read wherever my eyes land first, and I always get advice that I need for whatever I'm going through that day/time period. I have even had some words appear in a different color that changes as I read them! (that's a newer experience)
But that depends on how you are using the bible text at the moment. Sometimes the actual definitions of the original words are very important. Other times it's the context, which of course means much more research to figure out! :) the biggest problem comes from trying to disect the bible and prove or disprove a certsin point. It just doesn't work!! I go by a very simple premise; if Jesus said so, it is so. Rather childlike I admit, but we are called to have the faith of a child. And what is more evident of that then simply trusting that that's the way it is based on what Jesus said. After all, He would lie to us, no would He?
God bless.
