I'm not entirely certain of what you are getting at here. Your last statement was about giving God more credit then that. How is the numerical amount of the word hell (references to) a factor is giving God credit?

2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to show thyself approved unto God."

We as Christians are expected to study the bible, both the new and the old. Both are relevant and should not be ignored. It is OUR fault for not doings as we have been directed to do. How many times should God put before us what we need to do before we get the message?
