Re: The Reality of Hell
2Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
John 5:29... and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Rev. 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
There is no place in the Bible that says Abraham is in charge of heaven or people in hell can talk to him.
Do you think the rich man would care to have some one dip their finger in water to cool his tongue? Does that mean he has a body?
I would think the rich man would rather have the chance to warn his brothers himself if Abraham could raise the dead.
Was it just a coincidence that Jesus brought back a man from the dead named Lazarus and the words of Luke 16:31 came true? "And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
It is simply a parable used to emphasize a point.
Does Jesus ever use an allegory? I think the "wheat" should know this one, maybe even some tares
