Thumbs up for coconut oil, Price, Fallon and Enig. Atkins, hmmmm

I agree on the coconut oil and am a fan of Price, Fallon and Enig.  However, I have problems with Atkins.  He may have gotten a lot of things right, but his message was corrupted by the marketing of his unhealthy fad diet which was sold as a plan where you could basically eat all the crap you wanted so long as you skipped the carbs.  Huge appeal, but decidedly unhealthy for those who chose to eat processed meats and other junk off the grocers shelves and fast food fare and skipped out on eating virtually all carbs.  Some carbs are not only healthy, but pretty vital for most of us.

Despite the Atkins group's coverup, I think that the reports are pretty convincing that he was a physical wreck at the time of his death.  Prolonged ketosis, too severe carbohydrate reduction and consuming typical SADS items that are low-carb or no-carb but nevertheless unhealthy crap is not a good idea.
