Hey Grassman, no worries. I'm not a "pusher" of this book, but I did see great value in it. I think a lot of people actually wanted Taubes to write a "diet" book, but was dissapointed because it was a very dry scientific historical journal. And unless you are into science, this book is a very [very] hard read. I lent it out to a very smart lady friend, and she's had it for 3 months now..LOL.
Next time you are by a bookstore, just pick it up and thumb a bit through it. If you are an analytical guy (just like my husband), you actually might like it a lot. The beauty is, Taubes doesn't have a hypothesis he's trying to prove, he's just laying down the "facts". It's well done, really. Not to say that he did come to some conclusions at the end!
