Re: Blastocystis Hominis Nitazoxanide/Furazolidone/Secnidazole cocktail therapy

How wonderful to be able to talk with others with blasto. I have:
o Endolimax Nana – found in birds
o Blastocystis Hominis.

This is what I unsuccessfully tried:

o Flagyl (metronidazole) 500mg 3x/day for ten days,
o Alinia (Nitazoxanide) 500mg 2/day for three days.
o New stool test. Both parasites still there.
o I took a third drug: Sulfamethoxazole/TMP DS (Bactrim DS) VP 120 – twice a day for ten days. I also found out I had:
 Dyentamoeba Flagilis.
 Dientamoeba fragilis – sp?
o I took Alinia again, double dose, and got rid of the Dyentamoeba Flagilis but still have the other two.
o Then I tried Amphtericin B and Tinidazone… I still had the two parasites so . I also tried Biltricide (for the Fragilis) 600mg 1 tablet 3x per day for 1 day
o I then tried again Flagyl (metronidazole) 500mg 3x/day for 21 days, in Nov-dec 2007.
o Iodoquinol, 650mg 3x per day for 20 days.
o Then I did Neomycin 1000mg once per day for ten days.

I'm not on the three dug therapy from Sydney and will report back with the results. I'm on my third day.

I say 'f' you to every western doctor I've worked with thus far. I now am my own armchair doctor and prescribe my own treatments and therapies to myself. I use doctors just to write prescr*iptions that I determine I want and to get tests done.

Question - does anyone know whether it is true that blasto likes probiotics - that it feeds on them? I'm not sure whether to avoid probiotics while on the treatment.
