Re: Intermittent Water fasting.
Hi, i've read, that doing one day a week or a week out of a month, isn't good. Maybe it depends on your diet inbetween fasts, it is all about building up sufficient reserves.
Actually the one day a week, he was talking about people doing one day, then eating normally, maybe badly, and that it could change their body composition over time, laying down more fat than muscle protein. That wouldn't be you anyway, but i wouldn't do the 5 day, 2 off for to long a time, as might deplete reserves very quickly.
I actually did 6 months on supplements, for hypo, adrenals, from the place that did my hair anaylsis test. It did nothing. Cost me a fortune in their expensive supplements though. I ended up taking cortef(cortisol) just for a few weeks, and that sorted my adrenals out.
I want to do 21 days in April, but after that i don't know when i can fit one in again. I suspect the thyroid will not respond and kick in, if in-between fasts i take my Armour. I am eating more raw, and gradually increasing amount.
You say your patch is not hypo related. There are hundreds of hypo symptoms, so it could be. Did you have short eyebrows, and if so did they grow back properly, i am missing the outer third, typical hypo symptom. I have never had hair loss on head though, i've always had really thick hair, and that is still the same, but i caught my hypo in early stages and went straight on Armour, no synthetic stuff. Mine was triggered by the menopause i think, and i used loads of soya products, thinking it was good for me at that time, so it could have been that, or both.
If the intermittent WF works, it would be good for those with less time to do longer fasts. I must have inflammation, as i always have phlegm, and tenderness on my body. I start another round of chiro tomorrow, glad when i can get it all out the way, so i can start fasting.
The book i'm reading at the moment, Fuhrman, he said on his long fast, a mole dropped off and lipomas shrunk. It will be fascinating to see how it affects me, and what ailments benefit.
Why are you still fasting, if hypo gone?
