Re: I NEED HELP. I cannot take this anymore. :(
yes, you seem ta be in a bitofa pickle.. I cant blame you for not eating meat, it's unfortunate nature has to be so cruel. I do have to ask where you get your vitamin b12's from? Mushrooms are the only thing I can think of but don't they have free glutimate? If you do ever read into te paleo diet you will find that sufficient protein intake is very important. I'm not trying to say go out and eat meat but you may need to find another good source of protein. If you have ever done a biology class you'll know that ever single cell, DNA, enzymes etc are made up of protein. Going by the paleo book it says we need 0.6 - 0.7 grams of protein per pound of body weight and more if we do more than 5 hours of exercise a week we need even more. Importantly too are the type of protein we eat. A good source of Branched chain amino acids are essential for maintaining a healthly body and proper liver function. I've read that you eat the occasional egg which is good, eggs are by far the best source for BCAA's. Maybe try increase your intake of egg to 6 a week, add one raw to your smoothies is the best way to have them that way you don't oxidise the fat in them too much. Unfortuantely, any type of protein powder are full of excitotoxins or isolated amino acids which destroy brain cells and who knows what else, in particular glutimate or glutamic acid. These are essentially the same as eating msg. It sucks, there's so much to think about when eating food.....
Anyways, to answer your question about my liver problem - The machine that was used on me to test for weakness and stress in my system gave a complete assessment of my body. There was a kind of bar that was number 1 - 100; 1 being weak, 100 being stressed and 50 being meaning homeostatis. I scored a 93 on my liver. Naturally the naturopath was rather shocked and told me straight away to stop cleansing and saying my liver could well start too malfunction if I was to continue. Just as a side note, my mum is a theatre nurse working at a hospital down the street, she had a lady come in whose liver acually did shut down from over cleansing which out of coincidence happened to be around the same time i saw the naturopath. So I pretty much was too afraid to go any further with cleansing. I was going by a protocol from an
Acne ebook which told me what to do in order. It said to do a
Liver Flush every 2 weeks however I only did them maybe every 3 - 4. I was however going through a rather stressful time of life, maybe that and the cleansing was just too much for my system. Who knows, I was really hoping it would work but my
Acne was SOOOOOOO BAD it just didn't seem wise to continue and be left with horrible scars for the rest of my life. I'm quite sure the stress I went through also caused my leaky gut. I've come to realise that there really is no overnight cure, well, for most people.
To answer your question about phytates or anti-nutients, according to the paleo book - they did a study on people consuming grains and legumes after they were cooked and there was still an increase in phytate levels in the blood; funny enough, the more refined the food is the less amount of phytates and lectins are in them. Kinda makes me feel a little better everytime I slip up in my diet.
One more question; do you get enough sun or vitamin d? It's funny, my skin improved quite a lot when I moved back to sunny Australia. just a thought..
