Hey Trysten, I don't know if you will listen to my advice as it is advice against those above me, but, I can only talk from experience. Almost a year ago I was in your very same shoes. I had done a
Colon Cleanse from blessed herbs, a
parasite cleanse using dr. clarke's stuff (which it did get out a lot of nasties),
kidney cleanse and completed 4 liver flushes. I was getting stones out which I thought was great, that it had to be doing something good, but, my
Acne was the worst that I have ever had by far. I was very suicidal, my skin was the only thing I could think about every second I was awake. I quit work because I couldn't stand the idea of being seen the way I was in public and I got to the point where I would have to work up the courage just to get out of the house. I went and saw someone who did test's using a weird machine that would examine my body's statis by touching certain meridians on my body with a pin. Not surprisingly, it showed my liver was so incredibly stressed from all the
Liver Flushes that it was almost at the point (this is what the doc said) of shutting down. I realised then that I had to stop cleansing as it was more than likely doing far more damage then it was helping. I forgot to mention, during that time I was on a vegetarian diet because I had heard so many wonderful things about it and that it was by far the cleanest diet to be on. The naturopath I had at the time was telling me that I had to start eating meat and particularly red because I was deficient in iron and zinc. I didn't understand why, I ate loads of beans, I was growing my own wheat and barely grass which has high amounts of zinc and iron and was eating a huge variety of vegetables and leafy greens. (Now I know trysten that you don't eat meat but please read on and hear me out) Anyway, I did give in and start eating meat. It did not do much for my
Acne but it did make my skin glow more. I read on the internet and confirmed it with my naturopath that the zinc and iron that is available in plants is different from that available in meat. And as I said in another post, it is literally 10 times easier for your body to absorb. Beans being the only plant source I can think of having a reasonable amount of zinc or iron also have phytates in them which inhibit the intake of those 2 minerals. I think I read on one of your last posts that you get bad headaches and almost pass out when you get periods. Women lose loads of iron during this time and being on a vegetarian diet cant help with that. Dizzy spells and passing out is a classic sign of being iron deficient. So I imagine with the stress of cleansing, the stress of your life, the stress your body goes through from periods I think its safe to say that your body is simply too stressed to deal with your skin because it has other more important things to worry about. Wow, that was a little side tracked. Anyway back to my story, I spent the next 6 months at home searching for an answer on the internet. I spent almost $5000 on skin care products, e books on the internet about acne, doctors and naturopaths and supplements which got me nowhere. However, My skin had to some degree got better because my body was not so stressed but it was still bad.
No doubt you have seen people and myself posting about the paleo diet. I came across this only 2 months ago and it has honestly changed my life. It did not completely rid my
Acne but made a dramatic difference in my appearance. I was fortunate enough to find a naturopath who was able to diagnose me with intestinal dysbiosis or Leaky Gut syndrome with candida overgrowth. With all the stress your going through there is a very high chance you have the same problem. Candida being an opportunist will overgrow when your body is stressed and become systemic which means it grows roots into your gut creating a permeable intestinal tract (leaky gut syndrome). No diet or cleansing will rid this you need to see someone who can put you on a program to rid this. Sorry, i got side tracked again but I'm just letting you know incase nothing else you try works. I completely understand if you don't trust anything I say, there's so much contoversy over what is good and bad and what the best way is to handle your situation. Whatever choice you make to try and cure yourself I hope it works for you. I know your finances are tight but I so strongly recommend you download the ebook on acne on the paleo website
http://www.thepalediet.com
There's nothing else that comes close in my opinion to be closer to the truth. If you do have LGS then chances are that your body is becoming intolerant to certain foods (as you mentioned previously about gluten), this is a sign that you might need to treat LGS as well (it is far more common then people realise). So my advice to you whether you choose to use it or not is to stop cleansing because it is only going to put your body through more stress and making your acne worse, give meat a chance and look into the paleo diet. The diet that we are scientifically studied genectically suppose to eat. If you still have acne, find someone who can diagnose you with Leaky gut syndrome or you may just need time for your body to get back into homeostatis. Being on the paleo diet your body will naturally rid toxins on its own and your
Gallstones will desolve over time. I truly wish you the best of luck and I'm sure everything will work out in the end.
P.S. I used to take EFA's for a while too but for some reason I think they might have made my skin worse. In the end I just started to take fish oil tabs and it seemed to make my skin a little better. Don't know why maybe just something psychological. Who knows.........
