Re: Going to heaven when we die.
When I mentioned rewards in my post I was actually referring to the rewards in this life and especially the reward of being close to God, bearing fruit for the kingdom and being able to fulfill our destinies that He planned for us. Yes, of course, I believe God works in us, but I also believe that we need to put forth effort. The Bible does talk about disciplining ourselves. The Bible does tell us to draw close to God and He will draw close to us. We work when we draw close to God. God works when He draws close to us. Both of us are working. It sounds to me like we can choose to be lazy and miss out on God's part which is to draw close to us. This is the attitude of many and they don't seem to be getting very far in spiritual things.
Although when I mentioned "higher rewards" in my post I was referring to this life, I do believe the rewards of the saints in heaven will be different and according to their works, but I don't feel like going there now.
Okay, Trapper, you're up next. lol :)
