You were wondering why women were more likely than men to become hypothyroid. What men don't have are monthly fluctuations in hormones. Women are more susceptible to thyroid disorders given that a genetic predisposition of, or an imbalance of hormones leading to, estrogen dominance could also cause hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism subsequently messes up normal cortisol patterns, causing what people on here term AF. I probably sound like a broken record by now but it would be better to call it adrenal dyregulation.
