Re: My experience with prolotherapy: do not get it, it will only make you worse as it did me.

I have had a nightmare experience with prolotherapy which involved injection of phenol, glycerine and glucose which ended up in my CSF fluid (fluid around the spinal cord), this affected my central nervous system causing all the muscle along the spine to tighten. The injections also came into contact with a nerve, this damaged the nerve and caused muscle weakness. Long needles were indiscriminantly put into my lower back without the use of any imaging whatsoever. I am now left with a number of muscles overworking to compensate for the damaged muscles, this causes an imbalance, and over tightening of muscles causing a lot of pain. I am still suffering after more than 3 years – has anybody else had a similar problem ? Tweet
