Re: Give us a break
matrix101, I agree with most of what you said also, but I don't believe Satan is a fictional character. I've seen to many things in life indicating his permitted influence in this World (corrupt politics, religion, education, etc) He has been permitted control of every man-made institution.
I've also seen one of Satan's demons inside someone. This person was heavily involved in the dark occult arts. The glitter and evil permeating out of his eyes when he smiled (sarcastic smile too) was so repulsive, that I had to turn away quickly as he was laughing. This person permitted this condition in themselves- they couldnt blame Satan for forcing it upon them.
Satan is not someone we can blame for our actions because it's all about our own choices and free will. It's not like Satan has put a gun to anyone's head. He merely appeals to our vanity-- Our greed for high status and self aggrandizement, lust of innocent things that satisfy the body, and an excess desire for things that look attractive.
He doesnt have to co-erce anyone to do anything wrong-- we do it ourselves by being so wrapped up in our self ego that we can be easily swayed at any of his suggestions.
Satan has each of us-- including religious people-- wrapped around his fingers. We are easily bought and conned -- but it's not like we can blame Satan for that.
Religion has nothing to do with God. Religion is as man-made as all the pharma drugs man has made to take the place of herbs. Actually, Satanic entities make their home in religion.
Jesus's greatest attackers were the religious people of his day.
