My pastor once mentioned that the original Hebrew texts were the best-- and that the old Revised standard version is the closest to the Hebrew texts as possible.
Nevertheless , you can read the Bible 400 times, and get something new from it each time.
It should be read with prayer, so that the Holy Spirit, Himself, can interpret it for you. Each time you read it, the Holy Spirit will illuminate some part of it you didnt catch the previous times. God- the Great Editor-- can correct any mistranslations and help you to 'read between the lines" if you ask Him to before reading it.
