Re: Give us a break
I'm with you on most of what you said. Just wanted to quibble witha comment in the latter part of your post.
"It's a fact that, in Europe, drugs are legal in various places and the crime rates are way down. In America it is illegal and the crime rates are the opposite. Why is this?"
I can't speak to what the facts may be in Europe as it pertains to drug-related crime. It does seem as though heroin-based users are still quite rampant across Europe. On the one hand, they have not really done a lot to address the root issue of addiction * , but on the other hand, they've at least done pretty well in getting a lot of addicts off the streets and into clinics where they can now continue to casually use in relative peace. In this respect, it makes sense that drug-related crime may be down in Europe. I can speak to the fact that much of Europe has been disarmed in the past few years do to so-called gun-control laws that now makes owning many firearms illegal, and as a result, a lot of crimes/burglaries in Europe are way up, and they are characterized by armed criminals/burglars waltzing into people's homes in broad daylight because they (the criminals) know that the average law-abiding people can no longer defend themselves. There have been some European posters (at least that's what they said) on various of the forums here at CZ who've corroborated this situation as I've portrayed.
Anyway, good post, agree with a lotta what you said.
* do not hold your breath expecting anything of substance to be done anywhere across this globe in legitimately addressing the problems related to drug use. Heroin, Cocaine and Halucinogens are major major major cash crops (and have been for centuries) funding clandestine operations and agendas of the rulers and their hired thugs/mercenaries of every civilized nation in the world. If any high officer anywhere in this world really wanted to win the 'war on drugs', they'd simply make a phone call to the CIA/MI5-6 and say "would you please stop promoting, importing and selling illicit drugs?"
PS - this is just a hunch, call it a theory if you wish, but my hunch is, if/when they succeed in taking away firearms from americans, 'they' will be more than happy to throw legal drugs at any american who chooses drown their lost-rights sorrows in them. In other words, drug-crimes are a largely scripted phenom in america, our controllers will be content to allow drug-related crime and mayhem to occur because this serves a purpose - it continually provides them a reason to make big hype out of parading such headline "news" as "see, another case of people who own guns using them for evil purposes, guns are bad, we must take guns away from people"
