Re: Crashes are now so severe - this is new to me - is this a crash?
Do you feel too much in a weakened state to do a veggie juice fast for about 1/2 a week? I wonder how many of your symptoms would improve and if any did, that would tell me your diet was directly causes those.
I still have AF. I never experience these crashes everyone talks about, but my AF causes me to always be exhausted in the mornings and I have to take a noon nap or two to try to have energy for the rest of the day. The
juicing or anything else I tried never really affected my AF in terms causing me to feel weaker after trying something new.
When I recommend someone trying an 80-10-10 style of eating, that doesn't necessarily mean Graham's high-fruit raw way. More of just eating high-carb/low-fat even if it's mostly cooked like Dr. McDougall's Starch Solution way. I see so much evidence from people here that high-fat/low-carb is causing a lot of their problems. Not all, but a lot.
When you went raw and said you felt very hungry during the night, that's a classic sign you just weren't eating enough which is a really easy mistake to make on an 811-style diet, especially raw. I was shocked to see a lot of raw fooders mostly eat fats to get their calories. I assumed all raw fooders mostly ate fruits & vegetables.
All the research I've done to see why people failed on vegan and raw diets because I started eating in that direction, though not fully raw or vegan, two things were the biggest reasons they failed; under-eating and eating too much fats. I was also surprised how many raw food gurus downplay the importance of fruit. I guess they are addicted to their high-fat raw gourmet lifestyle and selling supplements to gullible raw newbies.
I've been recommending everyone to start tracking what they've been eating with
http://cronometer.com/
so they really know exactly what they are eating and can help people on here help them by knowing exactly what and what proportions they are eating. I'm especially interested to see how many calories you're averaging a day and your macro ratio (protein/carbs/fats).
