Re: anyone take out their own IUD?

I JUST took out my IUD and am soo happy with the decision. I've been thinking about taking it out for some time but been afraid. I have an appointment with a dr where they are going to charge $150.00 to do what I just did! That app will be cancelled right after this post! It was just as painless and easy as everyone said. I had a bit of a hard time finding the strings, but use your index and middle fingers and then it's easy. I had many problems it seems many of you have had. Weight gain, cramps, pain in general, mood swings, all things the dr said were not contributed to the IUD. After reading up it's good to know that I'm not crazy thinking these annoyances were because of the IUD. I guess time will really tell but as for taking it out yourself, I say go for it. Shame on the drs for charging such an obscene amount of money for what I just did, especially for how easy it was! Thanks to all of you who have posted before to help me with my decision! Has anyone's symptoms/ side effects gone away after taking it out???
