Re: anyone take out their own IUD?

I am so you posted this information. I had Mirena since December 2009 (1 year and 5 months today). After reading other threads I realized I could remove mine as well. My symptoms are horrible: crazy hair loss on my head, excessive hair growth on face and body, mood swings, severe depression, awful painful cystic acne. My only reason for all these symptoms was one cause MIRENA! So today I took matters into my own hands and removed it (with the help of my husband). I had no pain at all, I feel more removing a tampon than this thing. It seems intimidateing to do this but take the courage and yank gently. I am so happy and I can't wait to experience life after mirena. It was a good idea to get it at the time but after all my body has been through I am glad to cut the strings with that idea.
