Re: Please help with my brother's very complex and chronic gut illness.
Thanks Luella!
Well, the roaccutane was 12 years ago. The pathologist thought it was the start of the whole situation. It may have affected the liver which then affected the gut and the whole thing exploded from there.
The liver detox is ready to go. Its a 3 stage protocol from a nutritional doctor. basically to kill bacteria,
parasites etc and then to repair the gut and then lastly to detox the body.
But before we can start any of this, he needs to start eating more but he can't do this as eating/drinking causes a build up of pain the the gut. The funny thing is that just 3 weeks ago, he was better as he was on anti-biotics but after that, he started probiotics and the pain has returned...it basically stops him from eating.
We also need to repair his leaky gut before we can do any other gut or liver stuff. From what I have read, the liver detox comes last as a lot of people have had bad reactions to the detox due to the leaky gut.
He has been taking glutamine with aloe juice for a couple of months and its done nothing, I assume this is because he can only handle 2grams a day without getting constipated.
Given the roaccutane was so long ago, does this change your suggested protocol? Sorry, I should have been clearer with the timeframe.
