Re: Please help with my brother's very complex and chronic gut illness.
Thanks Johnser.
Well, the thing about
Iodine is that he had never taken it for 12 years and then started taking it. He stopped it for a while after the symptoms increased but then re-commenced it and there was no change to the health or level of symptoms. I personally don't think it will do anything more than increase the
Iodine spot level.
He takes about 3 grams of triphala daily to maintain bowel movements but constipation is not the biggest problem at the moment, although it has been the most chronic symptom over the last 12 years. The biggest issues are the inability to eat due to the pain after eating. It is literally stopping him from eating.
I don't know whether this is physical (stomach/duodenal ulcer or inflammation) or a reaction with small intestine bacteria or leaky gut. Although, is leaky gut in the small intestine or large???
We have a good doctor here who found the dysbiosis and a good pathologist with personal service who helped me to interpret her test results (she found the liver issue and leaky gut). However, im worried that they may not know all the ins and outs of treating a severe problem like this. I think I may need to find a good naturopath in Sydney who works much more wholistically using herbs etc.
