Re: nkm83...Re: Please help with my brother's very complex and chronic gut illness.
Hi Chris at al,
Quite right about the water fast. I have suffered from the GI tract problems for a fair few years and a 19 day
Water Fast this past September did the job of fixing it all for me.
I would like to add though, that it is very important to first of all asses the applicability to a particular person.
The long term fast is going to cost the patient some 1 - 1.5 lb weight loss a day on average. Then a wasted person may have a problem where the total fasting is going to seriously aggravate this problem.
Second note is the importance of enemas. No food means no poop and no poop means collecting of all the toxins discharged by liver and lymphatic system into the intestines. It is essential to keep removing the colon sludge from self digestion by at least two enemas a day in order to prevent toxin re absorption.
Next point hardly ever mentioned is the return to "normal" diet. Rumour has it, that the "return" should take as long as the fast itself, starting on fresh juices and slowly adding lightly steamed or boiled veggies, then may be a soft boiled egg and eventually rice and boiled meats, all in very moderate doses.
I did wean myself off after 19 days by water melon to my desire and two pineapple slices the first day, the same plus about a handful of raw almonds the next, the same plus a sliver of boiled chicken worth about two thumbs volume the third day, still melon, pineapple and almonds plus a nice chicken/root veggies (celery and parsley root and carrots) the fourth day and pretty much anything in reasonable quantity from then on plus probiotics.
With kind regards, Slavek.
