Re: Fuhrman / Fasting / Fitness? Where too now?
On my first fast, I went through a phase of cravings for junk, coffee, curry, then on day 27

"This morning I went to the market and bought 16 oranges for £2, juiced 8 of them with my citrus press to make 800ml of fresh juice, and drank it throughout the day. My god it was soooo delicious! Later stocked up with some organic stuff from the supermarket, ready for the next few days. I have a farmers market locally on Sunday, which sells local produce direct from the farm. I will get some stuff from there. I have to confess I bought some cherries this evening. I chewed a few slowly. They tasted so great!"

"Yes, that is one of the benefits I found, so far the thought of cooked and processed food hasn't even entered my mind, whereas cherries and pineapple etc are worth more than gold in my mind's eye!"
This you will find interesting too...

I think the main problem is that once you start eating rubbish, you quickly get a taste back for it.
The "commitment" Fuhrman was referring in my original post to was to do with his "Eat to Live" plan. I'll go back a few paras...
"After reading this book, you will have a better understanding of why changing has been so extremely difficult in the past and how to make it happen more easily. You will also find dramatic results available to you that make the change exciting and well worthwhile. However, you still must look deep within yourself and make a firm decision to do it. I ask you for six weeks of your life to make my case. After the first six weeks, it becomes a lot easier. The first six weeks are definitely the hardest. You might already have strong reasons to make a commitment to the Eat to Live plan, or you would not be reading this."
So for fasting I would say a few weeks of fasting, maybe 21 days. You will know when you have got your true appetite back because you will see fruit and veg in a completely new light, but it doesn't take much to make you slip.
Ask me in 6 weeks about the other stuff, ha ha! Well 7, I need to read the book first.
