Re: First day of 2nd fast I feel absolutely awful....

The white stringy stuff and the fact you recently took Antibiotics suggest you may have a Candida overgrowth. Candida in several forms is normally present in the gut. It is kept under control by the good flora in the intestines. Frequently Antibiotics can destroy enough of the good bacteria that the Candida begins a great growth spurt, it can also become fungal in nature and cause a lot of problems. Candida feed on simple sugars usually present in the bowel from carbohydrate digestion. The lack of this Sugar can cause die-off and make you feel terrible. While it is somewhat unusual to have such violent symptoms on the first day, if you had cleansed up your diet in preparation to fast, this could be the cause.

AS Chris said, the fact you had such strong symptoms suggest that you do need to fast. However, I do not believe you should suffer too much. Perhaps you need to spend a few days on a juice fast and take some kind of probiotic to balance your intestinal flora. You can use yogurt or Keifer if you want foods. You can get acidolphilous pills quite cheaply at most Walmarts if money is an issue; if price is not a problem most health food stores have excellent probiotic that are kept refrigerated to keep the product fresh and active. After a few days on probiotics and unsweetened juices you can segue back to a Water Fast and hopefully not suffer quite as much. Only you know how much you can take from detox, but there is no shame in postponing your fast to do some fine tuning in health issues.
