Have to confess, it’s not anything I’ve heard of either, but maybe you have too much iron and it’s being oxidized like silver will when exposed to air, only to electricity instead. I have used zappers for over 15 years and have surveyed many zapper customers. I have not seen or head of this before. It is possible that it is the result of die-off. It is also possible that iron is involved as it is possible for iron to provide that color of tint. Stopping the iron for a few days is not likely to influence the result as it takes a long time to get rid of excess iron.
