Re: Hormonal acne

I am 44 and have suffered from hormonal Acne for many, many years and it does not seem to go away when you get older like they tell you! I have tried aldactone, Antibiotics , retin-A, differen, benzoyl peroxide, salcylic acid and many, many over the counter products. I thought aldactone was the answer. I have been on it for 6 months along with differen gel. It did help, but lately the big hormonal zits are back. I am now going to try Diane 35 birth control pills along with Aldactone and differen. I have to order them on the internet. Diane 35 is NOT available in the U.S. and I cannot figure out why! My ob/gyn has never heard of it. I need feedback from anyone who has tried Diane-35. I want to know the true side effects, especially weight gain and Depression particularly in older women.
