Re: narcissim in my life

I think you have asked an incredibly good question. I mean....it's like "he just bashed my head in or pushed me down a flight of steps with a baby in my arms" then feels sorry FOR HIMSELF that "he is the victim" when the bastard wasn't even touched!

That was my experience, so yes, I asked one of my counselors about this (there have been so many.) She said, "No, I don't believe they see themselves honestly. Maybe a part of their brain shuts down or just isn't hardwired that way." I also read that IF THE DAMAGE THE NPD IS TRULY HORRIFIC (as in my case and so many others), the brain of the NPD will not allow the person to ADMIT what they have done. They simply cannot/will not see themselves in that bad of a light.

Maybe it is some sort of "disassociation". I don't know. I have grappled with this question more than any other-- other than HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THIS PERSON CLAIM TO BE SAVED AND YET STILL BE A RAGING NPD AND PATHELOGICAL LIAR?!?!?!!???????????????

Blows my mind.
