Re: Natural vs Modern Medicine
Although Genotype 1 is the harder to treat, it is still possible, so don't be discouraged. It will just take 48 weeks. I am not sure why it takes so long to get your meds started. Do check with your insurance though. There is a lot of expense to this between, blood work, meds and other tests. You will have side effects. It's the degree that varies. In my situation, after the shot, which I take Thursday eves, I felt nothing until Friday eve. Then it was like a low grade flu, achy, cold, headache, sleepy. I just bundle up and get comfy, watch TV and it isn't too bad. If you take the shot later in the eve like 9-11, mostly the next night you can just sleep through it. Also that way I can work Fridays. I just don't have to much problem. I take OTC stuff for different side effects like headaches. One of my issues has been mouth stuff. A lot of cankers, burning tounge, salty taste all the time. Also split fingers. Basically, the medicine dries out your body fluids so use good creams like Lubriderm or Aveeno, wear rubber gloves for dishes etc, keep really moist before you dry out. Buy 8
oz water bottles and keep them filled each day. Drink 8-10 8oz bottles a day. That is the best tip I got. Keep the water going through you and it really helps reduce the side effects. I hope this helps, and that you have an easy time of it. Also, you can't stay in the sun too long so be careful with that.
