Merry Christmas to you! You definitely have a high viral load and the Genotype 1a is the one that is harder to get rid of than 2 or 3. You asked another person about the oral inteferon. I am doing the weekly injection along with 4 pills a day for 24 weeks. Genotype 1a takes 48 weeks to treat. I have 8 weeks to go! My viral load is still 0 after 16 weeks and my ALT/AST are all normal. It is the only treatment that is able to get rid of this deadly disease. Under the tounge is experimental still. My feeling is, I want to get rid of this thing so I can move on! Who's got time for it! The injection doesn't even hurt, it is a tiny needle and very little medicine. Takes just about 30 seconds. I haven't gone mad or stayed home from work or had much discomfort at all. True story. Get a GOOD medical team to work with you and it is definitely do-able. This is not a good disease. It is completely life threatening. I will help you if you want. But I have chosen the Inteferon way for now. Not many people on this site want to go there.Just so you know my position.Take care.
