Fenugreek
Have you checked out the Glyconutrients forum yet?

In summary, it seems that there are 8 sugars that are essential for humans and that only 2 are common in our diets today. The human body can synthesize the other 6 from the 2 we eat, but it is "metabollically expensive" to do so.
I have read many posts on that forum. It is kindof a pain, because occasionally people have written posts claiming to be a newbie and asking for a quick summary and the general response is that the newbie should just read all of the old posts.
Many people there buy the glyconutrients in supplement form. From what I have gathered so far, the foods which contain the 6 extra gylconutrients are: flax or psyllium seeds, fenugreek, dandelion root, aloe, and kelp. Also, goji berries seem to contain a few.
Having as many of these as possible is supposed to support healthy cellular structure and cell building. Putting this in perspective with your post on fenugreek, I am thinking that adding as many of these as possible may help me to gain weight (worth a try, at least). So, these glyconutrients are going to be a part of my "weight-gaining mission", which I will begin in September. (I do not intend to buy the supplements, just eat more of the foods.)
Is summer over for you? August and September are our hottest months here in Japan. Do you have a vitamin D lamp? I don't know anyone who has one. I will get one when we move back to the US in a year or two. I am lucky now, as I have access to great food. The Japanese are very picky about their food quality. Even though organic foods are sparse, the soil here is mineral-rich, they don't use excessive pesticides, and most of the fruits and veggies come straight to the markets from the farms in the mornings. Since I don't need a car here, we can afford to spend more money on food.
Do you think your metal state is mostly due to food? I think I was on the verge of a mental breakdown until my youngest started preschool. This summer, I still think I'm going insane and the only thing keeping me from going over the edge is counting down the days until school starts. I went from a full-time, well-paid desk job to baby/toddler duty 24/7. I am now addicted to reading curezone posts because I have no other life of my own. I am an introverted person and enjoy being alone, but now I have two little ones who are always in my space! And my husband injured his back and has been home from work for the past month and is in my space as well!
Have you ever tried Ginko Biloba? I bought some of Dr. Schultze's brain formula, which is mostly ginko and cayenne pepper. I think it is helping to clear out my brain a little. If you have access, get some ginko and cayenne tinctures, put a few drops in about 2
ounces of water, and gulp it down in the morning - supposed to increase circultaion to the brain and help remove whatever stored toxins are stuck in there.
Tina.
