Re: Primal Defense, HSO probiotics: a warning I received

Thankyou for that.

I had tried Primal Defense for a while and recently again. This last time I just could not tolerate it at all. I found that it really hurt my liver and gallbladder and that was just on 1 tablet a day!

I have heard counter arguments against HSOs and it was good to hear yours. The fact that there are no real studies out there proving the effectiveness of Primal defense- makes me seriously question it as a product.

One of the problems though in probiotic use, is how to make them survive the stomach acidity and be able to penetrate the large intestine. I don't believe that even if you take an enterically coated acidophilus pill that it will survive your stomach acid. In theory if you consumed billions of acidophillus and bifido bacterium etc, you could get some probiotics in your guts, but that would cost a lot of money. I think that is what is people find attractive about HSOs is that they bind to the good probiotics and penetrate the large intestine.

Well thats something I may have to accept that candida is about time and money, just like any other therapy!
