Re: Did Jesus go to hell between His death and resurrection?
"Saying our Lord is twisted when He allows for hell, is an insult to our better understanding."
Saying our Lord sentences the unsaved to everlasting torment, never to escape the torment, is an insult to our better understanding, I think.
The idea that people can live forever unsustained by God is not biblical at all. The idea that people can live unsustained by God for a second is not biblical. Our every breathe is dependent on him.
Acts 17:25
nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
Job 34:14-15
14 If he should set his heart to it
and gather to himself his spirit and his breath,
15 all flesh would perish together,
and man would return to dust.
Psalm 104:29
29 When you hide your face, they are dismayed;
when you take away their breath, they die
and return to their dust.
