Re: banana, carrot, cabbage and parsley to take the place of grains and dairy

Dear DL and Archus,
While it's obvious upon eating it that dairy is a mucous-producing food, why is mucous a bad thing (other than when it's camping in your sinuses, that is)? Mucous lubricates & traps germs; I always justified dairy on those grounds, though I'm open to learning otherwise. I merely dislike the "cold" sensation it gives me.

Right now my lymph system is going mad expelling mucous, so this is a subject much on my mind!

Beans... oh, I love them. Warm, soft beans. Beans and rice are actually one of my favorite meals. I can't tolerate bananas though: they ulcerate the roof of my mouth before I even get around to swallowing them. Too bad, because I always fret about potassium.

A question for Archus: I run slow & low (resting pulse 55, BP 90/50), and I self-medicate with sodium (mainly just making sure I put it on things... all my salads have salt) to prevent gray-outs when I stand up. I'm not doing it now, obviously, cos I'm dozing around reading books, but so far I haven't been troubled when I change position. Is there some dietary indiscretion known to hit the brakes on the circulatory system? Or, to put it another way, is there something I can eat (after) that'll put the throttle on so I'm not a turtle with thumbs?

Maybe I'll be revved up after this fast! There's a happy thought!
