Know starvation and Autolysis
I second what DL has to say. Also we should know how our body works, especially during a fast.
Definition of starvation for a layman is .....one not eating foods and damaging the body. Definition of starvation for those who know what a fast with water only or dry fast is......bodies of all living animals and plants are built not to eat everyday otherwise this planet would not have so many varieties of species and its existence for millions of years. That very body is designed to also use fats, glycogen, undigest foods, junk in the body, tumors etc. by the process of Autolysis, which conversion of energy needed by the body in the times when there is no food available or when the body is fasting.
There are so many examples in the animal world of Autolysis. A tadpole turning into a frog only survives on its tail, animals going in hibernation during winter, sick animal abstaining from food, a plant growing from a seed or a tuber and so many others.
Conversely, when a body is either eating less, not eating proper nutrition or eating partial foods, goes in to a starvation mode, when the body lives on the muscles and other minerals readily available to it. Even in starvation body discriminates on what to eat first by its usefulness. The heart muscle is the last thing the body will eat. This is how nature builds life.
I think it is very unfair to scare people who are in much need of help and support to heal their bodies and mind, by giving them false information.
Your experience from the two fasts is not enough to conclude a general theme. Also I am not sure that you were in tune with your body otherwise you would have seen many positive effects of the fast. But we are all different and experience different things at a different time of the fast. Why can't one not fast for longer period of time? Many people fast for 30 to 40 days and clear up their diseases and toxins to be healthy individuals. Of course those who do not eat properly post fast will get back into a sick mode.
