well now that i know you constantly exfoliate your lips as you have stated which may i remind you is NOT normal if you think normal people need to exfoliate and give there lips daily lip scrubs i don't know what planet you live in but i don't know anyone that has to exfoliate there lips constantly to stop them from building up thick weeping yellow crusts. i think your just managing your condition well which is great! and sorry to tell you but i have been doing that for about 5 months now in fact my lips look so normal apart from the white lines that appear sometimes through out the day that i can now drink beer with out straws eat almost every thing i actually go out now and drink with my friends i swim in the pool and no problems although this does not mean i am "healed" in fact my lips are still inflamed and they burn and cause lots of discomfort some of my friends even have said my lips look red and a bit burnt from the sun sometimes. But in saying that its not that noticeable but that doesn't mean i don't want to fully cure the symptoms like daniki in fact it bothers me so much (pain,swelling,irritation) still that i will continue to find treatments to try as i think ec is just a form of dermatitis and i know for some people it can take a long time to get results like daniki and a few people to 100% clear all symptoms and control the disease. But anyways i will leave you these posters who have 100% cleared there symptoms and don't have to constantly have inflammation and constantly peel there lips. i don't want to be constantly having issues with my lips through out my life i want NORMAL LIPS THEY DONT CASUE PAIN AND IRRITATION since i know some treatments do work for people I ALSO WILL CONTINUE TO SEARCH FOR A TREATMENT THAT WILL WORK FOR ME! Lips are a crucial part of everyday life so i want them fixed!

Here are some more examples were anti-inflammatory and immunosuppresive medication has worked yes these are powerful drugs but sometimes when you have a chronic condition which doesn't respond to standard treatments these are used.

although the condition returned after prednisone use it still goes to show the immune system and inflammation are the main drivers. I'm sure also once the others stopped treatment of imuran it would also return much like eczema patients symptoms return shortly after stopping treatments. Theres more success/improvenments but i don't really want to go searching through the forum for ages! Im over and out for a couple months!
