Dude, that is NONSENSE. Unless you can honestly say that you did not peel the skin off your lips, by biting and/or picking, or that you never had it burn off in any way at all, whether that be by spilling hot sauce or some other type of spice or by some medication that didn't agree with you, then all you have, really, is a missing layer of skin. And by the laws of science, a scab will form to protect that area until new skin develops underneath.

Adastran actually mentioned something that I too noticed initially--the puke green appearance of the scab when it's drowning in aquaphor. Most people who try this method leave the scabs on. I ripped them off and let the aquaphor be the protective covering. It works, trust me. I know you're skeptical, but at least try it: you'll waste six days at most. If by the sixth day you are not entirely healed, you can come back here and tell me to go f*** myself, and I will apologize for wasting your time. Literally, it'd be very irrational of you to not at least try it. And please try it cold turkey--you can go six days without applying whatever it is you're applying now, especially since it doesn't seem to work at all anyway. Tweet
