It is also a logic that can be used to avoid oppressive actions by government agencies.

Objective proofs can cost millions. You appear to be very poorly informed about government suppression of information that they do not want to be made available.

Even when a study is done, agencies such as the FTC or the FDA can claim that the study was not sufficient and force it to be done all over and they can even "put their fingers on the scale".
