Re: Home remedy for cysts/abscesses
I am trying this remedy right now and can share that there is initial burning of a menthol type sensation that comes from the tea tree oil & calamine lotion ingredients. In my case, it isn't so overwhelming as to be painful. My cyst manifested about 3 days ago, so I'm very happy to have found this website and this remedy so soon into the whole episode.
I will let y'all know how this works for me, and I'm very hopeful it will be all that's necessary to resolve the issue.
Phoebe, thank you for sharing your experience and this option with all of us.

12/04/2012 Update: So far, this remedy isn't doing anything for reducing my cyst. I did two applications yesterday for 30 minutes each. Today, the cyst has not reduced in size or level of pain, but it doesn't appear to have increased, either. What has happened is that my skin is getting irritated and is beginning to bleed slightly from the caustic ingredients, but I suppose that's one of the things that encourages the cyst to burst and drain. Perhaps mine hasn't grown to proportions where it's ready to burst yet.
The one thing I am concerned about is that the calamine lotion contains parabens, and the labia is full of all those porous glands. Granted, the calamine ingredients list parabens towards the end of the ingredient list, so that means they're the smallest levels in the ingredients. Still, that's not an area that I want potentially carcinogenic ingredients being absorbed twice daily. I'll give this another couple of days and if it isn't making any difference, I'll stop.
I did order helychrysum essential oil yesterday, after reading another woman's suggestion on this topic. I'll see how that works. She also mentioned Apple Cider Vinegar, but I'll need to wait to try that until after this rawness from the current remedy subsides.
Again, I'll update as I progress through this. I'm very hopeful that it will subside and reabsorb back into my body, but if necessary, I'll do a draining procedure myself.
