Re: mortality rates
There is plenty of data around about DDT and other toxic chemicals, and the theories of DDT having a causal effect in regards to polio. The data is in no way conclusive, so saying that DDT causes polio, is not true, and not a fact.
It is a theory worth looking into, and from my own research, there is a lot of data, that does not add up, including the timeline. There is also the information available, that points to DDT being a residual toxin in the environment, as well as in animal and human bodies. Bearing this in mind, we should still be seeing polio, in countries where
vaccination has been widespread, as the DDT is still present. This is not the case however.
If people would like to research anything I've said in this post, a good place to start would be looking into the data on DDT and other pesticides, as well as the incidence of polio world wide. Research reputable websites, and libraries, or talk to people who work in these fields, if you want information that is not tainted, or skewed, towards a certain belief.
