Re: I just want my life back
I'm so glad that you are here and have been brave enough to share with us. I believe that you will find a rich support group of people here and I hope that you will stay and contribute long enough to watch yourself begin to trust that there are many people in this world that will show you the love that you deserve if you know where to find them.
I am sick and can't work right now, but when I was healthy I taught private art lessons to kids and adults. My favorite kind of lesson always involved much more than art. I love to work with kids who have been deemed "different". Even more than that, I love to work with adults who are scared to let their light shine. I wonder if you could find someone like me who lives in your area that could come over and teach you art, or knitting, or some other skill that you enjoy. The goal would be to find someone online who is fully aware of your situation and would just love to work with you on helping you to heal. Maybe this person is a life coach. Maybe you start with them coming over and spending time with you, showing you love and maybe eventually you might trust this person enough to go outside with them. Little by little.
I like to sing a song to myself sometimes that I learned when I was little. It goes like this: "Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make this garden grow. All it takes is a rake and hoe and a place of fertile ground". Have you seen the movie "What About Bob?" If you have it's like that. Baby steps.
I agree that the only way that you will begin to feel safe with people is to start having people around. Begin with one person whose job it is to help you feel safe with people again. Then, as you begin to feel safe with that person, you will eventually grow into someone who is no longer afraid of other people as well. I know that you can do this.
