Re: I just want my life back
Hi 14727,
It broke my heart to read your post. Your life sounds a lot like mine while I was growing up. It will get better, just know that. If you can conquer your
Sugar addiction (read all labels, it is added to everything) then that can help tremendously. If you try that for a week or 2 you won't want it anymore. Keep eating clean and eliminate juices, they are loaded with natural
Sugar but too much to handle and will make your blood
Sugar like a roller coaster. If you must have something sweet eat low sugar fruits like unsweetened berries but LIMIT THEM.
In the meantime I will suggest you read some, if not all of the following books as they have helped me a LOT:
Toxic Parents by Susan Forward
Emotional Blackmail by Susan Forward
When You and Your Mother Can't Be Friends by Victoria Secunda
Mean Mothers by Peg Streep
The Emotionally Abused Woman by Beverly Engel
The Body Remembers by Babette Rothschild
We Are All in Shock by Stephanie Mines
Some of the books deal with your relationship with your parents. Once you read these you will see the whole picture and not blame yourself. This is critical to your recovery since your thought patterns effect your health whether they are conscious or unconscious.
One final note, rid your life of people who are not supportive of you. This means everyone. Instead, surround yourself with positive and helpful people. If anyone negative comes your way, turn in the other direction and don't look back. I know it is hard but it is one of the only ways that helped me heal emotionally.
