Re: What I find interesting is...
"Why
can't you live with majority rule?"
"You mean the mob rule.
The mob says: Lets vote to allow 107689's house to be taken down so we can put a
highway there. On don't worry 107689 becaue you can also have a vote. So, in the
end, 107689, you lose your house to the mob.
Mob rule - remember what happened to Jesus. That was also mob rule. The same
happened to Socrates - remember, that was a democracy too. The mob poisoned him.
Democracy never lasts very long - sooner or later it turns into socialism - on
its way to Communism."
You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. If you call your
privilege to vote a part of mob rule, then you are part of the mob.
Eminent domain is abused, but owners are rightfully compensated for it.
Those laws were put in by elected officials who can also be voted out of office.
Do you even understand what was going on during Jesus' day? (I haven't
the foggiest idea why you even bring that up.) Judea was ruled by Caesar,
an emperor, not a democracy. Judea was occupied by Roman soldiers.
There were 3,000 Roman soldiers garrisoned on the Temple Mount during the life
of Jesus. If you didn't follow Roman law you were crucified.
Thousands and thousands of people were crucified by the Romans - not just
Jesus. It was the Romans who crucified Jesus, not the Jews whose death
method was by stoning. Whether you like it or not, Jesus was not killed by
a mob, he was killed by the Romans.
Show me one country that has gone from democracy to communism. Russia
was never a democracy. China/Vietnam/North Korea/Cuba have never been
democracies. So - the "government for the people, by the people, and
of the people" frightens you? Not me.
