Re: Only in the heads of the authors

#107689,
I was only the messenger and not the investigator in such a study, so long as we bear that in mind when making a critique of the post.

Dr Cinque btw was also only reporting and commenting on the study and giving his opinion via his newsletter: he didn't make any claim to be related or involved with the meta-analysis.

The Inuit diet has a lot in common with all diets that prevent disease and leads to a healthy and fulfilling life, namely: it isn't processed.

The common denominator here is to avoid anything that is processed, and to eat foods according to appetite that are in their natural state, whether this be of a plant or meat-eating variety.

Red meat apparently is more injurious to health than white meat..............

What I think they mean though is "processed meat" and to some extent, cooked meat, is more likely to be carcinogenic that raw unadulterated meat.

The distinction I think is between cooked and processed and rather than raw.

"How could eating more protein and fat increase the risk of diabetes"?

Good point. I suggest you ask the studies authors.
