I was raised baptist too. Southern Baptist and I was a sunday school teacher. I can tell you the only way to heaven is thru faith in god. Many are afraid to die. This is normal. I am not afraid to die as I have seen heaven and I see many things that God has shown me to let me know the next life is better. Imagine hearing the bible today and when you go to heaven you get to sit at the feet of God and he will read it to you. Before you die peace will come to you and the Angel of death will make you calm and he will bring all the dead relatives to help you cross the bridge. Believe it or not. This life is what is scary, the next one is beautiful for the real believers.

I too was looking for a closer connection to God and that is how I became Muslim. Maybe your destiny is not as a Baptist but ask for God's protection when you feel happy with the hindu's.

Don't cry my friend for God is leading you to a path that is better and more peaceful, I feel it.
