Re: Another resource is badbugs.org
I like that web site too, and I used some of those testimonies in planning my protocol. However, I don't think that their protocol is perfect (you have to pay a few bucks to get the protocol in the email). For instance I know that they recommend Secnidazole rather then Tinidazole, but I tried both and according to my experience and that of researchers Tinidazole is much better - just like Secnidazole it has a prolonged blood half life, but is more toxic for amoebas then Secnidazole. The standard is live abscess: if medication is used to treat that, it means it is very potent. And so far only two medications are used to treat liver abscess: tinidazole and metronidazole. Brazilian researchers also found out that Secnidazole was not as potent as Metronidazole for instance.
So I would recommend reading badbugs but carefully and relying on scientific research as well. The goal is to take more then one medication at the time, at maximum possible amounts rather then minimum.
Oh and there is a decent part of the site devoted to E. histolytica, it is not only for B. hominis and D. fragilis, although those three seem to respond pretty much to same medications and have similar life cycles (except that D. fragilis is much easier to get rid of then other two).
