Re: Chronic Baterial Vaginosis -- What I've learned & what's working
Hey Everyone,
I can't post this on enough websites, but after three months of frustration dealing with BV I went to New Seasons and bought the live cultures probiotics. THEY WORK. I have been BV free for 5 weeks, the longest run I've had since the reoccurances started. I have been using the Nature's Way Reuteri (spelling?) in addition to obviously eating healthy and getting plenty of vitamins. (Which is something I did before I got BV anyways, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.)
Here is my dosing schedule: 2 pills for 10 days then 1 pill per day after that. I usually get my symptoms of BV the week before my period. I had very mild discomfort the first 2 days of the 7 days before my period, I again doubled up on the dosage for 3 days, and all problems went away!!! The important thing to remember is that these pills take 21 days to fully colonize, so even if you have one more bought of BV while takin them as perscribed, just hang in there, because it may have not had time to work yet.
I think the most important thing I can say is that I have not changed my daily habits at all other then taking the probiotics with my coffee each morning. I am sexually active more now then before (no symptoms) and am living live without having to worry about the constant fear of ANOTHER infection.
I did a lot of research before taking the probiotics, and it is found to help only 94% of women, so even if it doesn't help you keep trying other options. At this point I'm such a huge advocate of natural healing I could care less what Dr.'s say about
Antibiotics being the way.... no thanks.
Good Luck Ladies!!!!
*I'll keep posting updates as I can to let you know if the probiotics are still working in 2-3-4-5-6 months.
