Went to my Dr. yesterday. My pH was at 4.5 (which is about what I'd gotten the night before). About .5 high, & since I'm about to start my period, it's exactly what I expected. I am BV free for three solid months! I have my sex life back. I've lost 30 lbs since January. I didn't realize how depressed I'd been -- just how much this was affecting my life. I feel like I've gotten my life back.

I also gave her info about the Biofem Active Gel (available in the UK OTC) & the info on the Aci-Jel (available in the U.S. by Rx only). She was very excited about this product.

The Dr. is amazed at my turnaround, & she said that she will start using my treatments to help her patients with chronic BV. We're getting the word out! She actually thanked me for "helping possibly hundreds of other women with [my] research & determination." Not a common sentiment in the medical community. She's a fantastic woman.

My one concern is that I wish I could get the medical community looking closer at this newly discovered Atopobium Vaginae strain. I _really_ feel like this is the key strain that causes chronic BV. Right now all Antibiotics that target it also target the good bacteria (because they are both aerobic). If someone could develop a medicine that could target that one strain specifically, I really believe it would be an actual "cure." Maybe my research will trickle down to the right person, & someone will start researching it.

I have had this issue for several years. Finally while getting our hot tub repaired the repairman told us that our tub needed to be shocked once a month cause the bacteria build up can cause infections in women. Funny thing was we made no mention to him about my problem. We have a well and apparently the well water not being treated initially like municiple water systems has a lot of bacteria. Combine that with the heat of the tub...prime breading grounds. So we did this and 90% of the time I do not have a relapse. Only when we have not balanced the tub properly do I have a reoccurence. To cure it I have used all the above you have mentioned. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it does not.

I too have suffered with this crappy stuff for the last 6 years. While I could compensate for it, it never seemed to ever really go away completely. Anyway, a year or so, after it first started, I got busy researching this BV angle too. One day I was running a search on the Dr. coop website and came up with a really interesting article, which I made a copy of for my Doctor (she didn't save it either), but none for me, nor did I save the page either, damn it.

This article was written by one of their staff doctors who had run across a study done in Turkey on women who had chronic BV. What the researchers there discovered was in these women's bodies was a virus that killed friendly bacteria, but didn't hurt the woman at all. The writer noted how odd this was, and wondered why and how a virus would start doing that sort of thing; ie feeding on bacteria but not on the host. Not at all something virus usually do, he said. (Later when I went back to make myself a copy of the article, it was gone. I contacted the site and asked for a archived copy of the article and no one could seem to ever find that article again and of course no one remembered ever seeing such an article. Gee, what a coincidence. I am quite convinced that that doctor was never supposed to write about that but he just didn't know until after it was posted and someone in the know saw it.)

So he speculated that women with this virus of course would then manifest the BV because they didn't have enough good bacteria to fight off the opportunistic infections which caused the BV to 'flare' up. He also noted that most likely men with this virus would be asymtomatic on any sexual level, since they don't have such a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. And of course, I realize, these men would be out spreading this disease around without any idea of what they were carriers of. Of course, they too would be having their friendly bacteria killed, and the man (who had been stationed in turkey during the gulf war and whose condom fell off which is how i caught this crappy thing) has since died of prostrate cancer. I firmly believe that part of that was because of this crappy virus destroying his good bacteria and causing the addition strain on his immune system.

But anyway, I was relieved to find out what was really at the base of it, and started taking supplemental acidophilius immediately, but not any of the ones with the lactobactillius because that was one of 'friendly' bacteria my doctor saw to be overgrowing and causing problems for me.

I have since been treating it as a virual infection with some success, but if I let up on taking supplemental acidopholis again, it will usually re-flare.
I have since developed Lichen Sclerosis which is fungus based problem where the fungus, due to low hormone levels and (probably)low friendly bacteria levels, can get under the skin and really go to town without anything but estrogen/testosterone cream helping via the traditional medical route. I have found that using Colloidal Silver mixed with DMSO actually will get under the skin and stave it off, but probably in part to that damn virus, it never goes completely away. I was doing vaginal rinses with that solution also since the fungus was creeping into the vaginal walls, and just realized that since I did, the BV has pretty much gone away... silver being taken in to the inner walls where that friendly-bacteria-eating virus lives perhaps?

Anyway, after later discovering the New World Order's (NWO) agenda for decreasing the population of this planet by 50%, at the very least, and how thru out history, they have often used illness as a 'weapon' for achieving that goal (remember the small pox infected blankets they gave to the indians?? And aren't they busy trying get this avian flu thing going, eh?), I am no longer surprised by this virus. What better way to make a lot of people (since doctors don't call it any kind of 'disease' just a 'condition' so people keep going around having unprotected sex and spreading the virus willy-nilly) way more vulernable to getting sicker and sicker, weaker and weaker, so not only will the general public have to spend more money on drugs to have to fight off all of the opportunistic infections they will be getting due to the lack of friendly bacteria, (and of course drugs are just another more covert way of killing us more slowly, since the medical industry with Big Pharma at it's head, are so into the NWO) but it will also impoverish the average person while making the rich elite even richer, thereby contributing to the decline and death of the middle class, which has historically been a huge barrier to the NWO's world take over plans.

And for sure this virus also in the long run will help them meet their 50% or more world population reduction because with our immune systems crippled, we won't be able to fight off the next wave of 'plague' they will be sending around. We are only just learning how much our friendly bacteria does to keep us well, but I am quite sure the NWO bunch have known all about that sort of thing for quite some time, and have used that knowledge to get rid of what Henry Kissenger (one of the best known NWO chumps) called the "useless eaters". The medical industry is on Kissinger's side in this. To the top level leadership of those organizations who are most likely NWO themselves, we are just cattle to exploited and killed at their whim. They don't lose any sleep at nite over human suffering, trust me.

So, you might want to consider the implications of such a virus, and the possiblitiy that you may have it. And you might want to consider trying that Colloidal Silver /DMSO rinse, vaginally. Doesn't take much. Anyway, I thought you might want to know about that virus, which you may not have, but might be part of what is the problem for a lot of women with this chronic BV crap.

My pH is back up to 4.7, & I am having a slight smell with discharge, but I just had to have a round of Antibiotics for a UTI. I felt like I was taking poison when I had to take the Antibiotics . The Antibiotics didn't work on the UTI, gave me a horrible yeast infection that took 2 rounds of Diflucan & a round of Monistat to clear up (not sure if it's completely cleared up even). And now, obviously the BV is trying to come back. I'm feeling really discouraged, but I'm trying so hard to stay positive. I knew the antibiotics would disturb the delicate balance I had finally achieved, & so it's 2 steps forward & 1 step back, right? Thank goodness for the Biofem.

I wonder about inserting a capsule vaginally at bedtime. Surely the capsule that is designed to melt in the stomach will melt in the vagina. I may try it.

I am going to order them, & see if they help. I would think that using the Biofem that raises the pH, which the lactobacillus likes, in conjunction with using the lactobacillus suppositories, would be a combination of the right bacteria in the right environment.

I have discovered that when our body PH levels are too low (acidic) our bodies become a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, fungus, viruses, cancer, etc. And in these times with todays diet and toxins in our environment we should definitely take probiotics and enzymes, etc to stay healthy, however I still use to have Bv's, and bladder infections regularly until I read this article on the bodies ph levels, normal or neutral being at 7.0 and how baking soda raises our ph from a lower or acidic level to a normal range where this stuff (Bvs, infections, yeast, etc) cannot survive! I take a level teaspoon every morning and night and use urine test strips to check it and have had no problems since starting this. This of course has nothing to do with the vagina ph levels which should be acidic or at 4.5. I too suffered from chronic BV for TEN YEARS. For many of those years I had no health insurance, and was put on anti-biotics, metro gel, Clindesse...nothing EVER worked for more than 2 months. I tried EVERYTHING, tee tree, hydrogen peroxide, acidopholus, NEVER wore pants even (only skirs) only cotton underwear, abstinence...they always came back no matter what.
Then I got an incredible gynecologist (Dr. Teresa Hubka who practices in Chicago) and she suggested cryotherapy (even though I never had an abnormal pap) because she suspected my cervix was the issue. I had the cryo and was free of infections for an entire YEAR! (That was a huge improvement) But after a year of zero symptoms, it came back. (Three in a row even after using metro gel and Cliness again) I tried acupuncture to test out something else, and I have been 100% free of infection since. It's been amazing, and I wanted to share this with you guys because I know how difficult it is to suffer from these chronic infections. It caused serious Depression and issues with sex for me, it was awful. Hopefully those of you who are suffering will try acupuncture and it will cure you! Hi! I joined Curezone because of your post Ginger_Ark. I want to say thank you. I ordered the Nature's Ways Primadophilus and can't wait to use it and see some results. I have been driving myself crazy for the last 2 months looking for something that would help. When I read you post here, I cried. I felt everything you felt. I experienced all the confusion and frustration with doctors telling me all the things I did wrong to create BV. When in truth, none of the things listed was the cause. Wow your article was very interesting and touching. I have been dealing with BV for about 2 going on 3 years & I have just given up on going to the doctor. Everytime that I go she gives me the same on stuff & its like ok when is this ever going to go away. When I do finally get it to go away its right back within weeks. I am hoping that Primodophilus Reuteri will help me like it has helped you. I would also like to try that stuff you got from UK since you don't have to have a prescription for it. I also read what someone else said about introducing Probiotics right away & that doing so will not make a difference. Said something about doing Dr. Jeff's program & then did the Probiotics. What should I do?

I cannot even count the number of forums I have visited about BV cures. I would like to know how to encourage the government to do more testing & studies to find a cure. Clearly, what we get from our Doctors does not work. My Dr. prescribes the Flagyl, which I hate & it has negative side effects.... but then once I'm done, I get a Yeast Infection! Got rid of that, on comes the BV again. Explaining this issue to my husband is so embarassing & I do not EVER want sex. I have been suffering for probably 2 years now. OVER IT! The hydrogen peroxide douche works to get rid of odor, but does not clear up the infection. I tried inserting organix greek yogurt once- what a mess! No thank you. Crushing an acidiphilus pill- also gross. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar soak- stinky & didn't work. I have a sticky not app on my phone where I take notes on all the "cures" I find on the 'net and then go to the vitamin Shoppe to buy what I need. I've tried the Jarrow's Femdophilus- didn't seem to work for me. Maybe I didn't take it long enough. I am on a BC pill which I would love to quit, but fear getting pregnant & we hate condoms. The Vasectomy is next, bt we're still only in our low 30s, so I might change my mind about the baby thing someday. I am glad to have found this forum.
