Re: Newbie Warrior
Oh god,I'm a huge fan of Weston Price, also of Pottenger. What they have written about and some of their conclusions, should be mandatory teachings in all medical schools. Some of the stories like of the Maori children. When they were released for there lunch hour, would run down to the beach and jump in the ocean and catch fresh lobster and eat that during their lunchbreak..man what a life! They are supposed to be the finest human specimens(race) in the world.
He checked there teeth and wasn't it something like 1 out of every 1,000 teeth they checked had a cavity. I'm sure those peole didn't floss or brush their teeth!
I have had the pleasure of meeting Sally Fallon at the health Expo in Vegas a few years back, I felt like a goofy kid meeting his sports idol. I've talked to here on the phone a couple times as well.
Do yourelf a favor and get a book by naturopathic physician Ron Schmid, he is a member of the Weston Price org. It used to be called Native Nutrition. It has been revised and it is called Traditional Foods are our best medicine.
It takes stuff from Price and Pottenger,Nourishing Traditions and wraps it up in a nice little package. Great book..
If you can't find it fsnaturelady,I think I have an extra copy and would be more and happy to send it to you..free of course.
I uses to give away copies of Nourishing Traditions to our customers at the health food stores. I didn't care if we were losing money,I thought it was and is a book that all who are interested in their health and the truth, should have.
We have to have our A/c on 75 just to be comfortable at night here in Phx. It was 103 degrees here last night at 10:00 pm.
I hear what you say about your relative. My grandma who lived to be 89 used to eat lard sandwiches!! and she would eat cow brain with egg 3x's a week.
I have a hard time with organ meats. Beef heart is ok,but once while eating it,I happenend upon a ventricle and that was it.
And I can't satnd liver. Sally recommended dessicated liver tabs. I used to eat those by the jar full when I was bodybuilding..
thanks again for all the insight. You guys have really piqued(and renewed) my interest in the Warrior and the Raw side of the equation.
I hate to admit this, but I'm 42 and the first time I EVER sat in a dentist chair was 2 years ago ,when I broke a tooth. I had only 1 cavity..it is filled with the white composite..
