Re: Newbie Warrior
Welcom!
I have not read the book yet, but have been over to a couple of sites and done some reading. I think that it is very important that everyone read the original book to learn all of the principles of any plan. There are several people here who have applied the plan to their lives far more than I.
Aajonus Vonderplanitz of The Primal Diet recommends eating fruit with some fat to avoid the spike. And someone else suggested eating a raw egg with fruit. When you said that you really want pasta or french bread, I guess you have an intolerance for wheat?
I have spent the last two years learning about several ways of eating and had practically ground to a halt. At the end of the whole thing, I know that we each must find a comfortable way to eat. The Warrior Diet encourages raw fruits, nuts and seeds and does not discourage meats; the timing is appealing due to our schedule and from what I have read so far, it is an efficient way of eating.
I know almost nothing about insulin resistance because it does not fall within my area of interest and so have not read deeply on it.
I am looking forward to getting the book to see if by changing the timing of eating, the body comes into balance. Dr. Hay ate only one meal a day in the evening, a practice that he started after he started to have health problems. This would seem to be the same, except that one is encouraged to nibble through the day, if desired.
