Re: Newbie Warrior

Like I say, I have been reading a LOT over the past two years. My conclusion is to do cleanses and repair the diet and find a way of eating that is comfortable for you and allows you to live fairly well. My theory is that in choosing our life's journey before we arrive, we also choose how we will eat, etc. In doing this, we meet our life's lessons -- the various illnesses, trials and tribulations which we must meet in order to strengthen our soul for the next round; thus, the variety of journeys and the variety of lessons.

My Dad passed at 83; I rarely saw him eat anything fresh except for tomatoes in the Summer -- he was incredibly vibrant up to the last six months. He never ate fruit, except something tinned like pears with ice cream. He was a very disciplined man and accomplished a lot but he would not change his diet to see if he could subvert his cancer. He ate a lot of steak and had the heart of a horse. So, he ate the way that he needed to in order to meet his life's lessons.

A little kelp or dulse, not much -- I have a very unadventurous palate, believe me, very limited.

I had not drunk milk for years until I got the raw and I like it; right now, it is a little stronger because the cows are eating fast-growing grasses which produce the great butter -- lots of A & D. I think that just getting to eat whole foods, organic if you can, is the first good step. Give up packaged foods. Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon is all about eating foods prepared in traditional ways --like making chicken stock -- wow, does that stock make a difference if I make a cooked soup! You feel the loving nourishment. Although it is a cookbook, she has loads of interesting information in all of the margins. This book is based on Weston A Price's findings in the 1920s (?). Have you heard of him? He was a dentist who wondered why his American patients had such lousy teeth -- he travelled the world finding isolated villages and peoples and found their teeth to be almost perfect -- he concluded that eating whole foods gives us more nourishment -- and, of course, these people did not have convenient stores and fast food restaurants and had to make their own food. They would not have overeaten either because the supplies simply had to last through the seasons.

Have you removed the metal from your mouth? That would be the place to start; that way, you get rid of the mercury which is so dangerous and take some stress of your body's systems. Then, you should be doing colon, kidney and liver cleanses. None are difficult and the results are great. TGhe Barefoot Herbalist has some good, down-to-earth ideas -- I like his Bowel Formula -- no problems, it just cleans the colon.

You are obviously much worse than I in the heat department!! Is this where I say it is a dry heat in Arizona? :) I look forward to opening my windows at night for a good sleep; I dislike haeing the A/C on at night. Perhaps I should be more mindful of people who must suffer the heat without any A/C. Very difficult.

I hope you cool down soon!
