Re: Does Anyone Have Dentinogenesis Imperfecta?

I have the same condition. I am 33 years old and have lived with the deterioration, discoloration, and constant teasing as a child all of my life. It tends to destroy ones self-esteem. I, too, have asked several different dentists to just extract my teeth, but they always give me the run around. They tell me dentures should not be an option for me. The latest today told me that he strongly disagreed with this route and that I have another ten years left on the teeth that I have. Problem is, they continue to deteriorate and break off. I don't feel I should have to wait for the rest of them to break off and rot out. All I have ever dreamed of was having a nice white smile. I can't afford to go the crown route and believe that is considered cosmetic surgery anyway, which isn't covered by insurance. I realize dentures aren't a dream choice but it is the most economical for me. I just wish that dentist's would understand this and stop being so money hungry.
